“Fauxyard” Keepsake Trunks

Custom made faux Goyard steamer trunks. Researched and designed by me, handcrafted in NY by bookbinder, Paul Vogel.

Embroidery

Hand embroidery on blue/cream toile. Yardage for accent pillow design.

Illustration

Still a passion. Always doodling. From hand-painted cards (images 1-3); to a simple use of office

products (image 4) utilizing a sharpie, yellow highlighter and sticker stars to get in touch with my inner Versace.

(a.k.a) On hold with Verizon.

Needlepoint

A fascination of pop art and traditional craft were married in my execution of my needlepoint projects. I love the result of the mixing of this graphic and controlled form of needlework and the juxtaposition of iconic, yet non-traditional imagery or subject matters. Here I experimented with an 80’s photo of Madonna drinking wine. The extra wide, silver leafing gives it a religious tone. My portrait of Madame du Pompadour is perhaps more classic in style, but also modern in its simplicity and placement above a fireplace at my friend’s chateau in France.
